Vermont Symphonic Winds presents “Mosaic,” a concert of pieces for wind ensemble that celebrate humanity in a variety of aspects: from Aaron Copland’s majestic “Lincoln Portrait” to the black community’s standard greeting of “AYO” to “The Mother of a Revolution!” celebrating the bravery of trans women. This is a program for audiences of all ages and cultures. Additionally, the concert will feature a premiere of “Revelations,” written for VSW by the young local composer Holden Friesel, who will also conduct it; and we will be joined by esteemed band musician and conductor, Col. Michael Colburn, who will narrate “Lincoln Portrait.”
